'Twas the Sunday before Christmas.

It's Sunday and I don't have another song for you. I'm sorry. I think one of you talented folks need to put together a song or poem (limerick or haiku) about your love for IKEA. Send it on to me and I will post a special feature.

Since it is the last weekend before Christmas I thought I would share with you two videos that, while not IKEA, feature another famous Swedish* export and a bit of the holiday spirit.

The first is from The Muppet Family Christmas featuring the Swedish Chef and Big Bird. This special includes ALL of Jim Henson's Muppet properties including Sesame Street & The Fraggles sharing the Christmas holiday together. The various highly edited DVD/VHS are currently out of print but the full, unedited version can be seen here.

The second I wanted mostly for the audio. This is from The Muppet's Red and Green Christmas album. It is entitled "Christmas Smorgasbord" and sung by the Swedish Chef & friends. Makes me hungry and jubilant. Enjoy.

*Now, I don't know how people perceive the Swedish Chef outside the US so I don't mean to offend anyone. I don't want to get sucked into the internet debates about narrow world views and all that. I know he talks gibberish for the most part with some authentic words thrown in and I am sophisticated enough to know that Swedish does not actually sound like this. Simply, it it makes me laugh. We are always in need of a laugh.
