IKEA the song but a different one

It's Sunday! I've been working hard the past couple of days researching, capping and writing the posts for the upcoming week. It has been crazy and I can use a breather. So today, as I try to do every Sunday, I am sharing with you all something fun.

This song was brought to my attention by the fantastic Christina. The song is entitled IKEA and is written and performed by musician/comedian Mitch Benn. Unlike the acoustic, folk rock IKEA song I posted last month this one is more energized. I was giggling like a maniac as soon as I got to the refrain. If you like this song I encourage you to check out Mitch Benn's other work especially his tributes to the BBC and Doctor Who.

Turn up your speakers. Move any beverages away from your mouth and your computer. Enjoy!
(You can follow along with the lyrics posted below the video)

we come from the lands of snow and ice
and gods of war and thunder
with a swing of an oar we would reach your shore
and pillage, rob and plunder
we are ravagers of women, and capturers of kings
but now, our friends we make amends
and fill your homes with lots of broken things

IKEA
we'll get your houses looking sleek and modern, that's for sure
IKEA
we are conquering the world with our self-assembly, flat-packed furniture

you can maximize your living space and brighten up your walls
or just have a cup of coffee or perhaps some nice meatballs
and if you haven't killed each other by the time you get to pay
perhaps you'd like to know who made us what we are today

our boss is Ingvar Kamprad, he takes his vodka straight
he's been our fearless leader since 1958
if we can follow all of the instructions he will give
then all the world will have the little bitch to build a better way to live

IKEA
our CEOs are legendary, our king entrepreneur
IKEA
we are conquering the world with our self-assembly, flat-packed furniture
IKEA
IKEA
IKEA
IKEA
IKEA
IKEA
